Dot Pecson was one of my Autoresponder Apprentice students, and after reading the first few words of her copy I was immediately blown away by her talents. This is a copywriter who knows her stuff and can create persuasive, hypnotically engaging sales pieces that will bring your prospects to the “Buy” button in droves. grab her now, because as soon as the word gets out, she’s a virtual LOCK to be booked up for months in advance.

Hi Dot,I really like these [3 mini-sites]. They get a lot of emotion across in a small amount of time, which is very hard to do for a wordy type like me! That looks like an interesting project, small sales pages like that.

I enjoyed reviewing your direct mail package for VitaMan! Overall, you’ve done an excellent job!
Your writing style is friendly, yet authoritative. the ‘voice’ is credible. I envy your ability to pain vivid pictures and tell compelling stories.
Your letter lead is especially captivating. It lands a knockout punch that keeps the reader’s head spinning throughout the entire letter. (And that’s a good thing!)”
You have made the USP crystal clear. As a reader, I ‘get it’ that VitaMan is unique and exclusive – and that I won’t get the same benefits with any other product.”
Congratulations on doing such a terrific job. You’re obviously a pro. Keep at it!

Christy Love – in response to my posting on Warrior Forum topic, What’s 3 things you like about copywriting:
[My original post: I think my very most favorite thing about copywriting is when I can connect the right product to the right buyer. I LOVE helping people, making their lives just that wee bit more pleasant.
[My second-most favorite thing about copywriting is the actual crafting of the copy materials. this is soooo close to writing poetry it isn't even funny! To choose the precise words that resonate with the readers and totally bypass their conscious minds, speaking directly into their subconscious-minds...! I love writing and have studied people my whole life, so applying this to my copywriting is a joy as well as a challenge.
[My third-most favorite thing about copywriting is the research. I've always loved learning - and copywriting is a wonderful excuse for boning up on all sorts of really cool topics. Landscaping, non-profits, websites - I love it. And I've gotten deeply interested in autoresponders big-time, which really allows for a wide range of styles/approaches. - Dot Pecson]

You’re so talented that I feel like I am wasting my time! No, I’ll hang in there. But girl you are AWESOME! I’m already your biggest fan. I hope that I can only do half as well as you are doing. I am really, really impressed.
[re. Volunteer Rescue Squad Packet] Great storytelling. Good use of promises and pictures. While you were subtle instead of direct, it worked well with the story. The benefits were subtly injected as well. Not just a great story, but the benefits of the whole rescue mission were noted.
Perfect! Wouldn’t change a thing. I couldn’t put it down!

Congratulations on getting your site up!
I like the colors and the lay-out. So many times I go to a website that’s got so much stuff going every which-way, it’s overwhelming. And you know what they say about that– ‘A confused customer says, “No.” On the other hand, your site was refreshingly clean.

I love your prose. I enjoyed the way the thoughts flowed on the paper. I had to read the entire piece before putting it down.

After 17 years of service, Dot Pecson announced that she is retiring from the County effective May 1st.
Dot has been with DEP since 1996. When she came to DEP she personally retrained herself to develop a completely new set of skills, quite unrelated to her initial education and experience with urban forestry.
She adapted well to the needs of the department in developing skills required to analyze, and develop recommendations on permit requests for access to public water and sewer service.
Processing these permits required organization of many public hearings over the years and customer service skills necessary for diplomatic handling of often difficult customers.
Dot’s personal retraining efforts resulted in adeptness in applying DEP’s GIS capabilities and other databases to informatively package recommendations on permit requests, complete with succinct, easy-to-understand explanatory maps and tables that were always much appreciated by our elected officials.
In the past several years, Dot has also been able to reuse some of her original training in trees to help Laura in DEP’s startup activities to find new planting sites and carry out inspections needed for the street tree program.
She also graciously offered her time and substantial skills as a harpist to provide DEP’s contributions to annually scheduled diversity day activities and to other DEP celebratory events.
Needless to say we will all miss Dot’s presence and skills in DEP.
